本剧描述落魄潦倒的赌棍、瘾君子兼懒鬼Buddy Dobbs（Michael Rosenbaum）为躲债来到一座偏远的小镇。他觉得自己已经走投无路，于是萌生了自杀的念头。正当他打算从一座桥上跳下去时，一个牧师及时拦住了他。倒霉的牧师脚底下一滑，自己从桥上掉下去摔死了。Buddy突然眼前一亮……。In the tenth series, in the second episode ("The Son'll Come Out") Michael comes out as gay to his parents, first to his father after coming home drunk then later to his mother. He then tells them that he has been in a relationship with a guy for some time, a 25 year old solicitor called Scott Marsh, who later moves into the Harper residence, though he is later seen in gay club...。故事内容在描述在餐厅做乐队领班的鲁涛（钟镇涛饰）和同日一起搬来的方家四姊妹同时被房东诈骗，被迫住在同一屋檐下，整天鲁涛与方家四姊妹为了小事而起争执，也因此与在摄影公司上班的方惠贞（沈雁饰）在朝夕相处的过程中两人日久生情，对彼此都产生微妙的情愫… 方家四姊妹的各种发生的事情均由鲁涛协助解决，鲁涛要求惠贞与他一同赴美，惠贞非常犹豫，最后房租到期，双方均舍不得分开却一定得分开，而惠贞也交与鲁涛一封信套，里面放在惠贞……。
